First time using the ‘Purple Train’

As I currently mostly work from home I don’t go into the office very often. I proabably should go in more but the idea is that you go in “with a purpose” and there haven’t been many reasons lately. But last week I needed to travel in for a face-to-face meeting which gave me an excuse to have my first journey on the Elizabeth Line.

Which was a bit of fun. I was impressed with a train that is all shiny and new.

However, I wasn’t sure it was actually a quicker journey though. A longer than expected walk at Farringdon, the change at Paddington, and trying to find the tube station at Heathrow terminals (I was taking the Piccadilly line a couple of stops back to get to Hounslow) extended the time. This may improve as I work out how to navigate the changes and when the service is joined togther next month and you don’t have to change at Paddington.
