New Liberal History website
Its been a long time in the making – rather too long if I am honest – but at the end of January we were finally able to go live with the new website for the Liberal Democrat History Group.
I’d built the previous version of their website back in 2015 (I think) so it was due an upgrade and I was very pleased the Group asked me to build them the new version.

As usual, the new website has been created in WordPress. The design concept was by somebody else, but the WordPress theme has been entirely rewritten by me to be cleaner and more mobile friendly. I also had to undertake a major rewrite of the custom plugin that creates the unique post types for the Journal, the historical content, and the database of people; categorises them, and creates links between them. The WooCommerce based online shop has also been significantly improved and should be much easier to use.
Credit should also go to LDHG committee member Chris Millington who undertook the herculean effort of sorting and reorganising the content.
If you have any kind of interest in liberal or political history I do urge to check the website out. It is a huge resource stuffed full of articles, biographies, and historical information.
