Random Thoughts for 1st October 2012
This is the latest in my series of Random Thoughts posts with links, things found on the web and other stuff that has occured to me between 15th September 2012 and 1st October 2012:
From Nick Clegg to Sir Menzies Campbell: the 50 most influential Liberal Democrats – Telegraph
I found this interesting – but I’m not sure how accurate it is. One thing I did notice is that it doesn’t include any one there because of their membership of one of the main party committees. You could make a case for the chair of conference committee for example. Not sure whether that says more about the party or the authors?
Liberal Democrat Party Awards 2012: The winners
I was pleased to see that the Lib Dems gave the Patsy Calton Award to Sal Brinton and Jane Hollis. Two brilliant women and outstanding public servants. Also pleased to see Duncan Borrowman, who spent some time working with the Luton Local Party during the last General Election, get an award.
Why is the Coalition failing to tackle our broken care system?
Paul Burstow writes in the Telegraph. I couldn’t see the reason why Burstow was sacked in the reshuffle. I’m hoping the reason wasn’t George Osborne.
Sign the Unlock Democracy lobbying campaign letter
Unlock Democracy are continuing their campaign to demand a robust lobbying register ahead of the Government publishing its proposals in the next few months. They are asking people to sign a letter to the new minister n charge Chloe Smith. I’ve signed and you can do so online.
