In Harrogate for Spring Conference
I’ve had a hectic few weeks – busy with one thing or another – so haven’t been able to follow up on some of my recent posts – building on my arguments – as I had planned. But here I am in Harrogate for the Liberal Democrat spring conference with a whole weekend to concentrate on things liberal.
Harrogate is one of my favourite conference venues. I love its poshness and gentility. Its yorkshire friendliness. So it is really lovely to be back. I am pleased with my hotel and the very good breakfast this morning. The weather is good. I’ve already met lots of lovely Lib Dem friends. Yes, can you tell I am in a good mood?
Plus, David Howarth MP has just reaffirmed our commitment to abolishing tuition fees.
Yes I am blogging from the main conference hall as the debate on higher and further education wind ups. A good debate. One thing a Liberal Democrat conference really likes to do is talk about education and we will be doing a look of that over this weekend. But next up is Howard Dean. More on that, battery depending, anon.
